    About this scene

Thick, visible brushwork gives this one the feel of an oil painting. A squat pillar of dark rock rises out of a pale sea of clouds, topped with a ring of dry golden grass. In the middle of that grass sits a black iron bowl full of fire. Lower down, a hollow in the stacked stones holds four cream eggs, and huge bleached bones lie across the dirt and pebbles in the foreground. Overhead the sky is a soft, flat blue.

The fire drives the animation. Flames rise from the bowl and lean to the right, a thin trail of grey smoke curls up and drifts off toward the top right corner, and the odd ember breaks loose. The cloud layer, rock and bones stay put. With so much open sky and cloud on either side of the peak, the burning bowl stands out as the single point of movement in the centre.

    Questions

Is there space beside the rock peak for a facecam?
Yes. The clouds on the left and right are plain and pale, and either side holds a camera or chat panel without covering the fire bowl or the eggs.
What does the smoke do over the 10 seconds?
A thin grey plume climbs from the fire bowl and drifts up and to the right, changing shape as it goes. It stays in the upper middle of the frame.
Does the painted texture show up on a big screen?
It does. The brush marks in the clouds and rock are broad and deliberate, so on a TV or large monitor the scene looks like a moving canvas.
