Using Loop Videos on a Monetised YouTube Ambience Channel

Yes, you can use our loops in monetised YouTube videos and in Twitch, YouTube or Kick streams. You may not resell or redistribute the raw files. Being licensed is not the same as being accepted for monetisation, so build each video around something you add yourself, such as your own sound mix, a timer or a curated sequence of scenes.

    Updated

Can I use these loops in a monetised YouTube video?

Yes. Since 24 October 2026 our loops are licensed for use in your own videos and streams, including monetised YouTube videos, ambience, study and relaxation channels, and monetised live streams on Twitch, YouTube and Kick. What you may not do is resell, share or redistribute the raw MP4 files, upload them unchanged as stock footage, or claim the scene as your own artwork. The full wording is in the loop licence.

The licence covers our footage only. Music, rain or fire sound effects, voice-over and anything else you add need their own rights.

Does a licence mean YouTube will monetise my channel?

No. A licence answers "am I allowed to use this footage?". YouTube asks a different question when it reviews a channel for the YouTube Partner Program: "does this channel add something of its own?". Nobody can promise that a channel will be accepted or how much it will earn, and we do not. YouTube's own policies decide that, and they change, so read the current versions in the YouTube Help Center before you apply.

At the time of writing, ad revenue sharing in the Partner Program needs 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 valid public watch hours in the last 12 months or 10 million valid public Shorts views in the last 90 days, and every channel is reviewed by people against the monetisation policies.

What do YouTube's reused and inauthentic content rules mean for loop videos?

Two policies matter most for ambience channels:

    • Reused content. Channels built mainly from material that is not theirs, without meaningful original commentary, edits or other added value, can be refused monetisation. Having permission to use the footage does not change this, because the policy is about what you add, not about rights.
    • Inauthentic content. Mass produced or highly repetitive videos, such as near-identical uploads that differ only in title or length, can also be refused.

A ten-hour upload of one stock loop with no sound, and fifty more just like it, is the pattern both policies describe. The same loop inside a video you have clearly shaped yourself is a different thing.

How do I add original value to an ambience video?

    1. Make the sound yourself. Record your own rain, fire or room tone, or mix licensed sound beds into a layered soundscape that is yours. Sound is where most ambience channels earn their identity, and none of our clips has an audio track, so the audio is always your contribution.
    2. Give the video a purpose. A 25/5 Pomodoro timer, a sleep video that fades to black, a reading session with chapter markers, or a study with me stream are each something a viewer can use, not just a background.
    3. Curate and sequence. Move through several scenes that tell a small story, such as a rainy evening that turns to night, with your own transitions, pacing and colour grade.
    4. Put your channel in it. Add your own title cards, intro, timer design or overlays, and a description that explains the session and how to use it.
    5. Vary your uploads. Change the scene, the soundscape and the format from video to video instead of re-uploading one file at a new length.

See the study with me setup guide for timer and second-screen ideas, and the fireplace on a TV guide for long, calm scenes.

How do I turn a short loop into a long video?

Our clips are short, mostly 5 or 10 seconds, so a long video repeats them. In an editor such as DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro or Shotcut, place the clip on the timeline, duplicate it end to end until you reach the length you want, then render once. Clips whose spec line says "First and last frames match" repeat without a visible jump. Use the HD file, not the 720p preview copy, for a clean result, and export at the clip's own resolution and frame rate.

Do I need to disclose that the scenes were made with AI-assisted tools?

Our scenes are original and created with AI-assisted tools. YouTube asks creators to disclose realistic altered or synthetic content that a viewer could mistake for a real person, place or event, using the setting in YouTube Studio when you upload. A stylised lofi room or a painted fireplace is usually outside that rule, but if a scene could pass for real footage, or you are unsure, tick the disclosure. It does not stop a video from being monetised.

What about live streams on Twitch, YouTube or Kick?

The same licence covers monetised streams. Use a loop as your background, starting soon or BRB screen, or the whole scene of a study or ambience stream. The OBS Studio guide and the starting soon and BRB guide cover the setup. Each platform's own rules on music and repeated content still apply to your stream.

    Frequently asked questions

Can I use the loops on a monetised YouTube channel?

Yes. The loops are licensed for your own videos and streams, including monetised YouTube videos and ambience or study channels. You may not resell or redistribute the raw files, and YouTube still reviews your channel against its own monetisation policies.

Will using these loops get my channel demonetised?

The footage itself is licensed for monetised use, so using it is not the problem. Channels are refused or demonetised when videos look reused or mass produced, so add your own sound, purpose and editing to every upload and avoid near-identical videos.

Can I sell or share the MP4 files in a pack?

No. You can publish videos and streams that use the loops, but the raw files may not be resold, shared, given away or included in a template or asset bundle.

Do I need to credit Infinity Looper?

Credit is not required by the licence. A line such as "Background scene by infinitylooper.com" in your description is welcome and helps viewers find the scene.

Does the licence cover music or sound I add?

No. The licence covers our footage only, and none of our clips has an audio track. Use music and sound effects you made or have the rights to use on a monetised channel.
