    Fireplace and cabin animated backgrounds

A real fire is the oldest screen saver there is. Most scenes here have flames you can see moving, in a stone hearth, a wood stove or a castle fireplace, usually with a chair, a sleeping animal or a window onto snow or rain beside it.

Fireplace loops do well on a TV in the background of a room, as well as on stream. Where there is a fire, it gives constant, natural motion while the rest of the room stays still.

    Choosing and using them

    Fireplace on a TV

Copy the MP4 to a USB stick, play it with the TV's media player and set repeat on. Short clips repeat often, so choose one whose loop point is marked as matching.

    Warm colour, cool overlays

These scenes are orange and brown. Cool-coloured alerts and chat boxes in blue or white stand out cleanly against them.

    Questions

Is there a fire crackle sound?
No. The clips are silent so you can add your own fireside audio, music or nothing at all.
Do the flames look the same every loop?
Yes. Each clip is a fixed animation of 5 to 10 seconds that repeats. On clips with a matching loop point the repeat is hard to spot.
