Night sky, star and aurora backgrounds

Every scene in this set looks out on the night sky: stars over a desert camp, green and purple auroras above a cabin, a nebula through a library window, a planet in front of a spaceship cockpit. The sky is the focus, so these read well on a large screen or a second monitor.

Several are vertical 9:16 clips made for phones and vertical stream layouts; the rest are 16:9 landscape. The specs on each page say which.

19 loops. Each unlocks with one sponsored offer (we earn a commission) or your email, or you can buy it on Etsy.

    Choosing and using them

    Use the dark space

Night skies leave large dark areas at the top of the frame. That is a natural spot for a stream title, a schedule or a now-playing widget.

    Auroras move slowly

In some clips the aurora shifts and in others it holds still while a fire or steam moves. If you want obvious sky motion, check the description on each page before you choose.

    OLED and dark rooms

These are mostly very dark. On a TV or OLED monitor in a dim room they look calm; on a bright office screen you may want to raise the brightness a little in your player.

    Questions

Are these real photos of the night sky?
No. They are made scenes, mostly illustrated or painterly. One aurora over a mountain lake has a near-photographic look; its page describes it.
Which ones work as phone wallpapers?
The vertical clips: the savanna hut, the greenhouse nook, the nebula library window and the stargazing tent. Their pages are marked 9:16 vertical.
